The online Oxford African American Studies Center, edited by Henry Louis Gates, Jr., has won the very prestigious Bestermann/McColvin Medal for outstanding work of reference published in the U.K., in the electronic category.  The 2006 award winners were announced on April 18 at 10.30 at the Library and Information Show, NEC, Birmingham.
