The formal responsibilities attached to the Senior Advisor position include the following: The Senior Advisor serves as chair of the FAS Standing Committee on Women and as the FAS representative on the Senior Vice Provost's Faculty Development and Diversity Committee. She meets with all FAS departmental Visiting Committees and serves on the Academic Deans, reviewing all senior faculty offers. She receives information on all authorized ladder faculty searches and data on the progress of junior faculty searches. She is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives relevant to faculty development and diversity in FAS. The senior advisor also meets regularly with department chairs and is active in particular recruitment and retention cases.
