Imagining America

Imagining America: Artists and Scholars in Public Life is a national consortium of colleges and universities dedicated to supporting the civic work of humanists, artists, and designers. Their major focus is "public scholarship" in these disciplines. Public scholarship is based on the conviction that the humanities, arts, and design can and should be relevant to the public and community at large. Imagining America believes that valuable knowledge in these areas is created when universities and colleges work in partnership with public and non-profit organizations, and that this knowledge is crucial to a democratic citizenry.
