Title "Personal Home Page" ii. Author Tiberius Rague. There are no collaborators. iii. Abstract I have family and friends in different parts of the world, like Australia, England and Kenya, and many of them have access to the Internet. For the purpose of staying in touch and keeping up, and because phone calls can be difficult at times because of the huge time differences, I think it will be useful to have a personal website where my friends can go to and catch up on what I have been up to. A personal website can be accessed at any time. iv. What For the project, all the information displayed on the website will be fictitious. There will be a home page. The home page will have several links as follows: link to a page that displays a weekly blog; a link to a page that displays media files that have been taken on trips or on other occasions like birthday celebrations; a link to a page that displays a map of places visited - the locations will be hyperlinked to various media so that viewers can view the photos, videos etc taken at those locations; and finally a link to news items of interest. v. Why I have family and friends in different parts of the world, like Australia, England and Kenya and many of them have access to the Internet. Since we don't see each other often enough, and phone calls can be difficult at times because of the huge time differences, I think it will be useful to have a personal website where my friends can go to and catch up on what I have been up to. With a personal website they can access it at any time they wish. vi. How This project will use the following resources and more (basically all the tools we have used up to now in Projects 1 to 4): XML; XHTML; XPath; JAXP; XML Schema; Cascading Style Sheets; Firefox, Internet Explorer, Netscape - ideally the website should work in all browsers. If not then it should at least work in IE; JDK 1.4.2; Java Advanced Imaging (JAI) 1.1.2; and JIMI Software Development Kit; Tomcat 5.5.16 and it's compatibility package; Java Servlet; DTD; SVG; Java will be used. I am going to have to research all the topics mentioned above in more detail especially Java Server Pages, Servlet, XML, XHTML, XPath, DTD and CSS. vii. Questions As in project 2 are there grids, similar to Great Britain’s grid for the U.S. ad other parts of the world, like Australia?
