iii.	Abstract
	This online system allows any individual/organization to keep track of their Asset Inventory.


iv.	What

	This online Asset Management System should allow any individual / Organization to keep track of their 
	assets, by allowing them to register their Organization information and then key-in their asset details
	like Asset Type, Brand Name, Model Number, Serial Number, Purchase Date and Price, Warranty start and 
	end dates, Warranty company etc.,. 
	
	This system allows user to search for their Asset Inventory. It also notifies user of any reminders like 
	Warranty expiration date. This is accomplished thru background process, which checks Asset Inventory
	daily and notifies user thru email if any of other asset's warranty expires.



v.	Why

	Two years back I bought a house and Appliances and other Electrical Household items for which I need to
	fill-in warranty card, other details and have to keep track of there expiration dates. Then I felt the
	need to have online system to keep track of my Household inventory and extend the functionality for small
	organizations.


vi.	How

	First, I would like to go thru all skills learned during this course and Assignments and see what all 
	functionality I can  leverage. The existing infrastructure is suffice for this project. I intend to use 
	Java, JSP, HTML, Servlets, XML technologies like XSLT, Trax. Would like to use database and JDBC for 
	persistence. If this need some additional changes for existing software infrastructre then I Will use  
	TrAX for persistence mechanism. 
	Do requirements analysis as end user; Design Web pages Look and Feel;  Develop Webpage navigation.
	Next I would work on user Authentication and Asset Data Entry. And finally on Search functionality and 
	generation of Reminder Notifications thru email. Need to learn How to use Java Mail API.
