FACULTY
Christopher Jones:
Letters of Recommendations -- Policies
1. If you want a letter of recommendation, you should contact Professor
Jones first for EACH letter (e-mail is OK). You should put all materials
connected with the recommendation in paper copy (NOT by attachment)
NO LESS THAN FOUR WEEKS before the date on which the letter is due
(or THREE WEEKS before the 'post-by' date). At the same time as
giving Prof. Jones the recommendation materials, it is advisable
to give him details concerning the course(s) you have taken with
him and a sample of written work in the relevant course(s).
2. If you expect to need several letters of the same kind, e.g.
when applying to several different positions simultaneously, then
use the forms provided by the Office of Career Services and ensure
that the OCS sends out your materials.
