Undergraduate Prizes in Jewish Studies

The Norman Podhoretz Prize in Jewish Studies is awarded to the Harvard College student with the best essay, feature article or short story on a Jewish theme. A tribute to Norman Podhoretz, editor of Commentary magazine from 1960 to 1995, the prize is sponsored by the Ernest H. Weiner Fund at the American Jewish Committee.

The Selma and Lewis Weinstein Prize in Jewish Studies is awarded to the Harvard College student with the best essay on a Jewish theme.

Students are limited to one entry per prize. Entries must not exceed 25 pages and should be submitted with the online application. Applicants have the choice of submitting the same paper for both prizes or a different paper for each prize.

The application deadline has now passed - thank you.

Please check back in the Winter of 2008 for more details and application procedures. Thank you!
