Research Fellowships

Harry Starr Fellowship in Judaica
The Starr Fellowship covers travel expenses and a stipend for a group of scholars from around the world to gather at Harvard to engage in full-time research in a designated subject area in Judaica. Applicants may come from any discipline in the humanities or social sciences associated with studies in Judaica; junior faculty are especially encouraged to apply. PhDs are required.

Daniel Jeremy Silver Fellowship
The Silver Fellowship provides an opportunity for an active congregational rabbi to spend a full semester at Harvard University researching an area of Jewish scholarship. The Fellowship will provide generous funding for one semester at Harvard and is intended to allow the recipient to begin, continue, or complete a piece of serious research in some area of Jewish scholarship before he or she returns to congregational life.

Harvard Graduate Fellowship for Study in Israel
A Fellowship, co-sponsored by the Harvard Center for Jewish Studies and the Harvard Divinity School, to support study in Israel for a Harvard graduate student. The Fellowship is open to current graduate students in HDS or FAS.

Summer Senior Thesis Research Fellowships for Harvard Undergraduate Students

There are a number of other funds available to students through the Office for International Programs at Harvard, including:

The Bussgang Summer Travel Fund - designated for research and travel in Eastern Europe.

The Nachshon Fund - designated for research and travel to Israel.
