For historial studies with GIS, one important issue is the integration of attribute data and spatial data for spatail analysis. In this presentation, the following topics will be discussed:

(1) Some concepts about spatial data and attribute data
(2) Spatial process of space-time data
(3) Spatial analysis, including indentification of spatial pattern, spatial autocorrelation, spatial association, spatial trend and factors contributing to spatial difference.

Finally, a discussion will be given to some applications of GIS and spatial analysis for historical studies.
