   His graduate research into the placenames of the Táin Bó Cúailnge made possible the maps in Thomas Kinsella's 1970 translation, The Táin; his dissertation, "The Topography of the Táin Bó Cúailnge" (Harvard 1970) has circulated widely in microfiche and continues to be the acknowledged authority on the subject. It is currently being readied for publication along with five papers recently read before the Harvard Celtic Colloquium, the California Celtic Conference, and the 2003 International Celtic Congress, held in Aberystwyth, Wales.
