Harvard African Students Association (HASA) The undergraduate Harvard African Students Association (HASA), founded in 1977, is an organization committed to nourishing cultural, intellectual, political and economic awareness about the African continent. HASA sponsors many events throughout the school year including the annual Harvard Africa Week.

Harvard College Pan-African Dance and Music Ensemble (PADAME) The Harvard College Pan-African Dance and Music Ensemble provides a space for the creative expression of various forms of dance from the African continent. PADAME offers a combination of dancing and live drumming in rehearsals and at performances. Dances performed by PADAME are led by both students and professional choreographers. PADAME performs within the Harvard community and the greater Boston area and is supported by a grant from the Committee on African Studies.

Harvard College Alliance for Africa (HCAA) works with both local African partner agencies and international organizations to implement sustainable programs for education in Africa 's remote rural areas and urban slums. It currently works in Kenya and Tanzania where our supported sites include schools, orphanages, vocational training centers, and libraries. HCAA achieves its aims by collecting books, computers, bikes, and other appropriate items for donation to our initiatives, by pursuing ongoing fundraising campaigns, and by sending an envoy of volunteers to Africa to visit HCAA-sponsored programs at least once annually.

Youth Alliance for Leadership Development in Africa (YALDA) provides a forum for youth on the African continent and those abroad with a commitment to the welfare of Africa. By networking with professionals, mentors and each other, members will increase their capacity to take on positive leadership roles in their universities, countries and on the continent. Through YALDA, members will implement their short and long-term visions for Africa.

Harvard Business School

The HBS Africa Business Club is dedicated to increasing the awareness of business opportunities on the African continent within the HBS community. Activities are professional, educational and social in nature, and are open to all members of the Harvard community. Every year the Africa Business Club hosts a major two-day conference at HBS which attracts MBA students and business professionals from all over the world who are interested in Africa. The conference also attracts multinational corporations and indigenous business ventures operating on the continent.

Harvard Graduate School of Education

Voices For Africa is committed to raising awareness of the pressing issues in African education among Harvard students and faculty. It sponsors an annual conference on educational and development issues within Africa which is open to the public.

Harvard Kennedy School of Government

The Africa Caucus brings together students, policy makers, academics and supporting members interested in a variety of issues on Africa. The Caucus sponsors a number of events, as well as the Harvard l Africa Policy Journal.

Harvard Africa Policy Journal is run by Kennedy School graduate students, with the help of an Advisory Board of faculty members. Its mission is to promote a rigorous, informed and influential policy dialogue that is relevant to the development of Africa. It seeks submissions of original articles from policy analysts, researchers and policy-makers from relevant organisations such as universities, think-tanks, multilateral and non-governmental organisations. Submissions will also be welcome from Harvard-affiliates past and present, and their peers elsewhere. The next deadline for submission is November 30, 2009. The Harvard African Student Alumni Network is a non-profit organization of alumni of Harvard University with an interest in Africa. Its mission is to promote communication and collaboration among Harvard alumni to effect change at Harvard and in Africa. Its membership is open to all members of the Harvard alumni community.
