This list is for students who have already registered with the Accessible Education Office and been referred to the Adaptive Technology Lab.
Before the semester begins, I should speak to the ATL about:
- Whether I use a Mac or PC computer
- What my previous accommodations have been, what worked well for me and what didn't
- What subjects I plan to study or concentrate in, including foreign languages
- Which classes I will be "shopping" including which are more likely to be my final choices
- Technology needs for library research
- Technology needs as part of exam accommodations
As soon as the semester has begun, I should give to the ATL:
- A Syllabus or reading list for each class I am taking
- Any changes to this Syllabus or reading list
- Any course handouts that have not been uploaded to the course iSite, or otherwise delivered to the ATL
During the semester, I should communicate with the ATL about:
- Problems with classroom access
- Problems accessing materials generated by course staff (handouts, problem sets, etc.)
- New materials the course staff assigns that the ATL was not previously made aware of
- Problems with or ways to improve materials produced by the ATL
- Problems accessing research materials
- What I am taking next semester
