Welcome to the Harvard University Astronomy Lab and Clay Telescope website! The lab and telescope are primarily used for undergraduate Astronomy and Earth and Planetary Science courses.
The Astronomy Lab is a small computer lab with 3 Macs and 3 PCs. There is a rooftop heliostat with a high resolution spectrograph and a CCD camera for imaging. We have a small Celestron telescope for imaging the sun (with proper filters, of course!) and many fun lab experiments.
The Clay Telescope sits atop the Science Center building. The telescope can be used for visual observations or CCD imaging and it can be controlled from the dome or from the Astronomy Lab.
The Astronomy Department at Harvard is one of the best. It is also very large and sometimes confusing, so below are some useful external links to help guide your way.
