Harvard University Asia Center (top)
The Harvard University Asia Center supplements other Asia-related programs and institutes at the University and provides a focal point for interaction and exchange on topics of common interest for the Harvard community and Asian intellectual, political, and business circles. The Center also fosters links between programs concerned with Asia at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and other faculties at Harvard, and facilitates cross-regional research and cooperative efforts between the University's libraries, museums, and regional centers and institutes.
Resources at the Asia Center include the Harvard Asia Bulletin, an online resource that lists many upcoming Asia-related events at Harvard (all of which are open to the public), and the Harvard Asia Newsletter, a quarterly newsletter with future and past lecture summaries, student events and grants news, interviews with Asia Center fellows, and other Asia-related news items at the University.
Harvard Alumni Association (top)
The Harvard Alumni Association is the official association of all alumni of Harvard University, and its purpose is to promote the welfare of Harvard University and to establish a mutually beneficial relationship between Harvard University and its alumni. The HAA helps alumni connect with the University and with fellow graduates through a wealth of Club activities, continuing education programs, online services, and alumni events around the world.
The HAA maintains three clubs in China: the Harvard Beijing Club, the Harvard Club of Hong Kong, and the Harvard Club of Shanghai. Through its Travel Program, the HAA also offers academic excursions to many Chinese locales.
Harvard China Fund (top)
The fund will coordinate and support activities related to and in China, as well as ensure that Harvard maintains a leading role in the study of China. HCF will proceed in consultation with colleagues across the University, in concert with, and in support of, the work of the University's Asia Center. There are three aims: to strengthen Harvard's leadership in the study of China, to support undergraduate and graduate student research and study in China as well as promote research collaborations with Chinese partners, and to explore the establishment of a physical presence in China in order "to promote the University's academic objectives, assist faculty and students in China, and to serve as convening place for Harvard activities."
Harvard Initiative for Global Health (top)
The Initiative conducts large-scale comparative research that may include country specific analysis. The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention has been an institutional collaborator with the Initiative on its study of Global Burden of Disease 2000 in Aging Populations, and also for the work of Majid Ezzati, Associate Professor of International Health, on the role of indoor air pollutants as risk factors for disease in rural China.
