ARTS FIRST 2009 | April 30 - May 3
Join hundreds of Harvard undergraduates, graduate students, and
faculty in ARTS FIRST, Harvard’s annual celebration of the
arts! All the information and forms you need to participate are right

PERFORMANCE FAIR
The ARTS FIRST 2009 Performance Fair will take place on Saturday, May 2 ,
from 1 to 5 pm at twelve sites around Harvard Yard. Previous performances have
ranged classical to rock music, film to improv comedy.
DANCE FESTIVAL
The Dance Festival will take place on Saturday, May 2 , from 1
to 5 pm in Lowell Hall.
OUTDOOR STAGE AT HOLYOKE CENTER
On Friday, May 1 , Holyoke Center will host student groups and individuals on the
ARTS FIRST Outdoor Stage at Forbes Plaza. Previous performances have included
a cappella, jazz, folk music, and Indian classical dance at this outdoor
venue in the heart of Harvard Square. Bands are invited to apply for the
Sunday Band Fest on the outdoor stage at Forbes Plaza.
PUBLICITY
Performance Fair and Outdoor Stage events will automatically be publicized
in the ARTS FIRST 2009 Guide, the main source of information for ARTS FIRST
audience, distributed on campus and throughout Cambridge and beyond. All
other groups must submit a Guide Publicity Form to be listed in the ARTS
FIRST 2009 Guide.
VOLUNTEER!
Help support the arts by joining ARTS FIRST as a volunteer! Volunteers play
a crucial role in every aspect of the festival, both during the event and
in planning throughout the year. Be a Performance Fair stage manager or crew
member, recruit and coordinate volunteers, assist in production and distribution
of the ARTS FIRST 2009 Guide, or help publicize the festival on campus. Volunteers
receive an ARTS FIRST T-shirt. No experience is necessary for most jobs,
and all are welcome. Email Matt Weinberg at arts@fas for more
information.
ARTS FIRST GUIDE
The ARTS FIRST Guide will list any arts event that takes place at Harvard
during ARTS FIRST. All non-performance Fair and non-Dance Festival groups must
submit a Publicity Form to be listed. Available at the Office for the Arts
and other locations.
