ABOUT
As part of the Global Soybean Project, team members visited Henry County, Illinois, in June, 2001, to investigate (first-hand) the conditions of industrial agriculture and American farm life. Rubie Watson grew up on a farm in this county and, together with James Watson, is conducting long-term ethnographic research there. Besides the Watsons, team members consist of Prof. Moon Ok-pyo (Institute of Korean Studies, Seoul), and Prof. Guo Yuhua (Dept. of Sociology, Tsinghua University, Beijing). Graduate and undergraduate students from the Harvard Department of Anthropology will be added to the team at a later stage.
