19.09 Art, Anthropology and Aesthetics (AAA) presents a screening of "An Anagram" directed by Daniel Barnett (2003,
42 minutes) at 7:30 p.m. in Sever Hall 416. Following the years of fallout from the erosion of communism in the former USSR
and using footage shot by veteran ABC cameraman Gary Henoch, An Anagram is an
cinematic essay in changing parts. It trades in what Paul Auster calls “a
syntax of the eye, a grammar of pure kinesis.” It wears the soul of historical disappointment on its sleeve.
AAA is funded by the Provostial fund for art and humanities
and organized by Lucien Taylor. |
