Working Group on Cinema and Television (WGCTV)
Founded in 1991, WGCTV is a professional organization of film scholars and critics dedicated to the study of cinema and television of Russia, Eastern Europe and the newly independent states of the former Soviet Union.
The goals of WGCTV are to facilitate and improve the research and teaching of the area’s cinema and television and to advance multicultural understanding. WGCTV is dedicated to serving its members’ professional needs and the preservation of film and television heritage of the region. Activities of the group include an annual business meeting and coordination of professional communication.
Anyone with an interest in the research and teaching of the cinemas and other media of Russia, Eastern European, or newly independent states is welcome to join the organization.
