Soyuz - The Research Network for Postsocialist Studies
Soyuz is formally constituted as the Post-Communist Cultural Studies Interest Group of the American Anthropological Association (AAA). It is also more broadly conceived, first as a newsletter and now a website, as an international congeries of anthropologists and other scholars working in postsocialist studies. Most Soyuz members have an interest in cultural studies, and that is the focus of the annual symposium in the United States, but all scholars with an interest in qualitative research on social life in Eurasia and other (post)socialist areas are welcome to join the network.
