Southern Conference on Slavic Studies
The Southern Conference on Slavic Studies is the oldest and largest affiliate of the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies. The purpose of SCSS is clear: to promote scholarship, education, and in all other ways to advance scholarly interest in Russian, Soviet, and East European studies in the Southern region of the United States. Every year for over 40 years the SCSS has sponsored a conference, bringing together the finest scholars in the country in an intellectually challenging yet friendly atmosphere. We encourage new faculty members and graduate students to participate in our meetings every spring. SCSS has over 450 members. Membership in the Conference is open to all persons involved in the field of the Conference's concerns. Dues, listed below, are very reasonable.
