AAASS Individual Membership
The Association has approximately 3,500 members and subscribers in the U.S. and abroad. Individual members come primarily from the academic community, as well as from the government and private sectors, but membership is open to anyone interested in furthering the scholarly objectives of the AAASS.
Members of the AAASS -- and those interested in joining the Association -- can now submit their membership applications online. To do so, log into our Members Only / Registered Users site, at www.aaassmembers.org, and choose "Membership Form." First-time users and those who forgot their user name and password can obtain their log-in info in moments by following the link on the main log-in page. You can pay your dues online using Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or PayPal. Members who prefer to submit the paper membership form and pay their dues by check, Visa, or MasterCard, can download and print the 2008 membership form and send in the completed form by mail or fax. A 2008 membership renewal reminder, including a renewal form, was mailed in early December to everyone who was a member in recent years.
Membership Benefits
Individual membership is on a calendar year basis with dues scaled to income level. Members receive print subscriptions to Slavic Review, the Association's quarterly journal, and NewsNet, the AAASS newsletter. The Members Only web site provides members with exclusive online access to recent issues of our publications, the most recent job listings, announcements of funding and grant opportunities, a searchable directory of members, and other valuable information. Members have the opportunity to participate at the AAASS National Convention at a discounted registration fee. As an additional benefit to its members, the AAASS offers significantly discounted subscription rates to our eleven affiliated journals.
Affiliate memberships are available for those who don't wish to receive Slavic Review.
Joint memberships are available for a fee of $35 in addition to the membership fee of the primary member; joint members do not receive duplicate publications.
Directory of Members Now Online
AAASS members can now locate contact information for their colleagues by searching the online Directory of Members. The online directory contains listings for current and last year's AAASS members. Members can access the directory in the Members Only area.
