FAS Human Resources is located in the heart of Harvard Square, at 1414 Massachusetts Avenue on the 5th floor
of the Bank of America Building, next to the main entrance of the Harvard Coop and across the
street from the Out of Town News. Because parking is scarce in Harvard Square, the easiest
way to reach our office is to take the subway.
Take the MBTA
Subway--Red
Line to the Harvard
Square Station. Use the Church Street exit. At the top of
the stairs turn left. Pass C’est Bon and CVS. 1414 will be on
your right. Enter the Bank of America entrance and take the elevator
to the 5th floor.
From West of Boston
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) east to exit 18, Cambridge/Allston.
This is a left exit. Bear right after the toll booth. Turn left after the
lights--but before the bridge--onto Storrow Drive. Proceed about 1/2 mile to the Cambridge/ Harvard Square exit.
At the end of the ramp, turn right to cross over the Lars Anderson Bridge, which becomes JFK Street.
Continue following directions under Harvard Square.
From South of Boston
Take I-93 north to Storrow Drive West. Continue on Storrow Drive about 4 miles to the
Cambridge/Harvard Square exit. At the end of the ramp turn right to cross over the Lars Anderson Bridge,
which becomes JFK Street. Continue following directions under Harvard Square.
From North of Boston
Take I-93 south to Storrow Drive West. Continue on Storrow Drive about 4 miles to the Cambridge/Harvard
Square exit. At the end of the ramp turn right to cross over the Lars Anderson Bridge, which becomes JFK
Street. Continue following directions under Harvard Square.
Harvard Square
At the end of the bridge you will go through the 1st set of lights,
continuing straight onto JFK Street. At the 3rd set of lights
(center of Harvard Square, facing Nini’s Corner) the road forks.
Bear left onto Brattle Street and follow as it curves to the right
at the HMV Music store. Proceed to the first street on your right,
(directly across from Charette and Crate and Barrel), making a
right turn onto Church Street. Continue on Church Street to the
end. Make a right turn on Massachusetts Avenue. Pass C’est Bon
and CVS. 1414 will be on your right. Enter the Bank of America
entrance and take the elevator to the 5th floor.
From Northwest of Boston
Take Route 2 East and follow it until the highway portion ends.
At the light, take a left onto route 16. At the first light take
a right onto Massachusetts Avenue. Follow Massachusetts Avenue
for a couple of miles, passing through Porter Square. Just before
you reach Harvard Square you will see Cambridge
Common (a large park) on your right. Go through the light next
to the Common, and then continue straight through the next light
as well. Pass Church Street, pass C’est Bon and CVS. 1414 will
be on your right. Enter the Bank of America entrance and take
the elevator to the 5th floor.
From Boston via Massachusetts Avenue
Follow Massachusetts Avenue towards Cambridge. When you enter
Harvard Square, the road will curve to the right. Go through the
light and then bear left as the road forks. At the light, take
a left staying straight, which brings you back on Massachusetts
Avenue in the reverse direction. Continue through the set of lights,
past Church Street. pass C’est Bon and CVS. 1414 will be on your
right. Enter the Bank of America entrance and take the elevator
to the 5th floor.
There is metered parking available in Harvard Square, though it is virtually impossible to find a parking spot.
In many areas, on-street parking is prohibited without a resident permit. Listed below are five public
parking facilities within walking distance of 1414 Massachusetts Avenue.
CHURCH STREET LOT - $18/day: The Church Street lot is the parking area closest to 1414 Massachusetts Avenue.
The directions above very clearly reference Church Street in relation to 1414 Massachusetts Avenue.
HARVARD SQUARE PARKING GARAGE - $19/day: From John F. Kennedy Street, go straight through the traffic
lights at Memorial Drive, then turn left at the first light onto Eliot Street. The parking garage is immediately
on your right.
UNIVERSITY PLACE GARAGE - $17/day: From John F. Kennedy Street, go straight through the traffic
lights at Memorial Drive, then turn left at the first light onto Eliot Street. Go straight through the next
light onto Bennet Street. Bennett Street dead ends onto University Road. Turn left onto University Road,
and the parking garage is immediately on your left.
CHARLES HOTEL PARKING - $20/day: This parking garage is located across the street from the University
Place Garage and below the Charles Hotel. Follow the previous instructions to the University Place Garage. When
you are on Bennett Street, look for the Charles Hotel parking garage on your left.
ALEWIFE T STATION PARKING - $4.50/day: Parking is available at Alewife T Station at the intersection of
Route 2 and Route 16, and midway between Massachusetts Avenue and Fresh Pond Circle. Alewife T Station is
located on the Red Line and any train will take you to Harvard T station (the third stop from Alewife and
approximately a five minute ride).
