Teaching with Collections
The Mission of the Peabody Museum states, "we preserve the past, which has shaped who we are today, to ensure a better understanding of human origins and history for the contemporary world and for future generations." Harvard University is home to world class collections in art, science, natural history, archeology, and more. These objects and artifacts give students the opportunity to experience a physical connection to history. They also, in one of the panelist's words, "help students understand how objects come to be prised or despised by the cultures who created them." Join us on April 1st to hear how these faculty members incorporate these resources into the teaching mission of the University across multiple disciplines.
