Douglas Lavin received his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004. His main interests are in ethics and the philosophy of action. His current work includes "Practical Reason and the Possibiltiy of Error," Ethics 114 (April 2004), which he hopes is the first in a series of papers on the conditions of rational agency. He also has teaching interests in the history of ethics and the philosophy of law, especially criminal law.
