Anya Bernstein

Director of Studies
Anya Bernstein is the Director of Undergraduate Studies. As Director of Undergraduate Studies, she is available for general academic advising as well as for discussions with students who want to study abroad, do joint concentrations, or who have concerns about their progress or ideas about how the concentration can be improved. She also coordinates the senior tutorial program and is available to students who have concerns about their senior theses or questions about the honors process. During shopping period, please call Valerie Sacchetti at 496-2957 to make an appointment. At all other times, please email her directly.

Sarah Champlin-Scharff

Undergraduate Program Administrator; Department Administrator

Sarah Champlin-Scharff is the Undergraduate Program Administrator and the Department Administrator. As the Undergraduate Program Administrator she is available to Freshman interested in concentrating in Social Studies, as well as concentrators in need of general advising or help with student records. While, as Department Administrator she oversees all administrative aspects of the Social Studies program. She serves on the Admissions Committee, Board of Advisors, and the Student Affairs Committee.
Richard Tuck

Richard Tuck is the Chair of Social Studies and is the faculty leader of Standing Committee for Social Studies. He will also be co-heading Social Studies 10 with Professor Michael Frazer during the 2008-09 academic year.

Professor Beerbohm should be contacted by students who have questions about the lottery system for junior tutorials or general questions and concerns about the junior tutorial program.

Valerie provides administrative support for both Social Studies 10 and 99. Students may feel free to contact her about matters pertaining to the sophomore or senior tutorials, Social Studies events, and this website.

Kate provides administrative support for Social Studies 98. She is also the assistant to both the Chair and the Administrator of the Department. Students may contact her with questions about Junior Tutorials, concentration status, and general questions.
