ACTFL
The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages is the only national organization dedicated to the improvement and expansion of the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels of instruction.

Modern Language Association
Organization serving English and foreign language teachers, with 30,000 members in 100 countries. Annual convention. Produces The MLA International Bibliography in print, online, on CD-ROM, and via the Internet, 4 major periodicals, including the ADE Bulletin; the ADFL Bulletin; Profession; and PMLA; job lists.

National Council of Organizations of Less Commonly Taught Languages.

Scholarly Societies Project facilitates access to information about scholarly societies across the world since 1994.

Library of Congress - Federal Research Division
Search database on various countries worldwide. Includes comprehensive, though not always up-to-date, information on many developing nations.
