The Korean Language Program is offering five courses in the Fall 2007 semester: Korean Ba (Elementary Korean), Korean Bxa (Elementary Korean for advanced learners), Korean 120a (Intermediate Korean), Korean 130a (Pre-advanced Korean), 140a (Advanced Korean), Korean 150a (Readings in Cultural Studies).
- Only those who completed all the five courses offered in the Korean Language Program are eligible to take an independent study (Korean 300).
- Students who want to take a Korean class for the first time should take the Korean Language Placement Test. The regular test is on Sept. 11th at Vanserg Hall 29 and the make-up test is on Sept. 13th (also in Vanserg Hall 29). Any students who miss these tests should contact Prof. Sang-suk Oh at ssoh@fas.harvard.edu or 495-5928 to schedule a make-up test.
- The Korean Language Program has a new drill instructor/ teaching assistant this semester. His name is Jin Hong Kim. Prior to joining the Harvard Korean Language Program, he taught at Columbia University as a lecturer for three years, and he also taught for over ten years at Yonsei University.
- In celebrating Choosuk (Korean Thanksgiving holiday) and American Thanksgiving, the Korean Language Program is having a movie day on Oct. 5th and Nov. 16th respectively. Two Korean films will be shown in the seminar room of 5 Bryant St. Any students involved in Korean studies as well any Korean Language Program students are welcome. The movie titles will be announced shortly.
