Adaptive Technology Laboratory

General Information

The Adaptive Technology Laboratory (ATL) provides support for F.A.S. students who wish to use adaptive technology. It is fully accessible for people with limited mobility via ramps on the front and side entrances of the Science Center. The office is closest to the Science Center side entrance, which is the entrance across from Littauer Hall.

ATL services are reserved for those students of the proper schools who qualify as having a disability. Please consult your school's disability office, before coming to the ATL for the first time. Provided Services and Equipment:

The ATL has one Macintosh and four PC computers. One PC is devoted to Dragon Systems Naturally Speaking voice-recognition software. The remaining computers are used primarily for scanning and optical character-recognition using applications such as ABBYY FineReader, OmniPage, and Infty for creating electronic text versions of books and handouts. Additionally, the lab is equipped with a ViewPlus Tiger Max Braille embosser. The most commonly used resource in the lab is Dragon Systems voice-recognition software.
