Tempus
Tempus: The Harvard College History Review is the Department's undergraduate journal. Tempus was founded in 1998 through the tutorial program as a forum for undergraduates to publish original historical scholarship and through which all students have the opportunity to learn from their peers. Tempus also sponsors history events for undergraduates and aims to promote an undergraduate community within the Department.

Any Harvard undergraduate can submit a history paper to the Editorial Board for consideration; papers may be extended research papers or short analytic essays. Most submissions are papers first prepared for Harvard classes. Book reviews and letters to the editor are also welcome. To submit a paper, please contact Tempus at tempus@hcs.harvard.edu.

Tempus also welcomes applications for board positions. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but priority will be given to applications submitted to the Tutorial Office by October 1st. Please click here for the application form.
