Post-doctoral Fellowship Program
An Wang Fellowship
The An Wang Post-doctoral Fellowship supports research in Chinese
Studies. Well-designed projects at any stage, from initial research
to revision for publication, are welcome. Priority will be given to
those candidates who have had no previous post-doctoral fellowships.
Those who have received their Ph.D. from Harvard University are normally not considered for this fellowship. Fellows will be expected
to be resident at the Center during their Fellowship and will
possibly be asked to teach or to mentor students. Complete

Undergraduate and Graduate Grants
Shum Fellowship
A generous grant
from Desmond Shum
will enable two Harvard
graduate students
to spend a year studying
in China. These students,
who will be studying
in the fields of the
contemporary Chinese
social sciences, will
receive a grant of
$20,000 each. Students
will apply to the
Fairbank Center and
will be selected through
a competitive application
process, with award
decisions made by
a committee of faculty
associated with the
Fairbank Center. The
winning students will
be known as the Desmond
and Whitney Shum Fellows.
