The Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies Announces its 2008/09 Student Grants
CES continues its long tradition of promoting and funding student research on Europe. Nearly forty undergraduates will pursue thesis research and internships in Europe this summer, while more than two dozen graduate students have been awarded support for their dissertations over the coming year.

CES believes very strongly that a vital part of
the training of future Europeanists is the ability to conduct fieldwork in
the region. Thanks to an endowment originally provided by the Krupp Foundation,
the Center is able to provide a year of support for dissertation research
abroad to large numbers of students as well as summer grants for graduate
students who are in the preliminary stages of choosing a topic or who, at
a late stage in writing, would benefit from a short trip to do final archival
work or interviews.

travel grants for senior thesis writers. The Center also offers a series
of workshops geared towards all students preparing a thesis, not just those
who are doing research on Europe. Workshops on the following topics will
be held in 2008/09:
How to Choose a Topic
Getting your Research Funded: How to Write a Good Proposal
