Online applications for a given year are updated and become available during the late summer months prior to the December admissions deadline. The admissions deadline for the 2008-2009 academic year is Friday, December 7, 2007. Please note that application materials are not available through the Biophysics Program Administrative Office.

**This year's Biophysics Program Recruitment Weekend will be held from March 12th through March 16th, 2008 (these dates include travel to and from Boston).**

The Harvard Program in Biophysics received 109 applications for the 2004-2005 academic year.

The average GRE scores for applicants to the Biophysics Program were:

  • Analytical : 732
  • Verbal: 622
  • Quantitative: 777
The average GRE scores for those applicants admitted to the Biophysics Program were:
  • Analytical: 753
  • Verbal: 658
  • Quantitative: 785
We recommend, but do not require, that applicants to the Biophysics program take the GRE Subject test in the area of their undergraduate major. GRE tests (General and/or Subject) should be taken far enough in advance of the admissions deadline to allow the receiving of scores in time for the December application deadline.

We recommend that foreign nationals take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) to demonstrate English proficiency. The average TOEFL score for those applicants who took the test was 628 based on the paper-test scoring scale.
