Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study

The Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study is a scholarly community where individuals pursue advanced work across a wide range of academic disciplines, professions, and creative arts. Within this broad purpose, the Institute sustains a continuing commitment to the study of women, gender, and society.

At the heart of the Radcliffe Institute is its fellowship program, designed to support scientists, artists, writers, and other scholars of exceptional promise and demonstrated accomplishments who wish to pursue work in academic and professional fields and in the creative arts. International applicants are welcome.

The Radcliffe Institute’s Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America collects manuscripts, books, and other materials essential for understanding women’s lives and activities in the United States. It holds a significant amount of material on Chinese-American women and organizations and on American women living and traveling in China.
